Our financial health is just as important as our physical and emotional health. Here are four ways to stay financially healthy:
- Don’t let your lack of confidence hold you back. The basics of financial planning are no more complicated than 8thgrade math. If you can add, subtract, multiply, divide and understand percentages, you’ve got this.Just get started.
2. Ask yourself: What do I want? What are my goals?
Estimate when you want to reach them and how much each is going to cost. Once you know where you’re going, you can puttogether a plan toget there.
3. Know the numbers.
Like with any plan, you need to know where you’re starting. What do you own? What do you owe? How much does it cost you to live? Put together a spending plan so you can make informed decisions about howyou use your money now and how your choices contribute to your goals or doesn’t.
4. Remember, it’s just a plan and it’s YOUR plan.
You can make changes anytime you want, but don’t abdicate the decision making. No one cares as much about your money as you do, but don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
