- To run a restaurant in a man's world, you have to be humble and believe in yourself.
In a field that has been primarily run by men, it can be difficult to break the mold and make a name for yourself. There will be countless situations that will test your patience, but one must rise above, never forgetting that we have the power within ourselves to make it past the challenges that we are facing and propel forward.
2. Treat every guest like they are part of your family, and they will keep on coming back.
I like to treat my guests as if they are part of my family. We believe it is important to tend to their every need and make their experience a special one. This creates a sense of community and familiarity in the restaurant that will guarantee happy costumers that will keep on coming back.
3. Always be empathetic to your staff.
In an industry that faces so much turnover, maintaining staff can be a difficult task. Being empathetic towards them and creating a happy working environment will increase their longevity and foster a team that is as dedicated to your restaurant as you are.
4. Wake up in the morning feeling passionate about what you do.
Owning a restaurant is not a 9-5 job and it does not fit a specific description. The job requires countless hours of work and it requires your utmost attention at all times.
This is why the best advice I can give someone is to make sure you have a passion for it, otherwise it is going to consume you. I wake up in the morning excited to see what the day has to offer me! Going into my restaurant is something that excites me, and i truly feel like I have found my calling.
